Hey Guys,
For sale is my backup 8GB iPhone. It is currently unlocked for use with any GSM carrier. As you can see from the pics, it has a crack up top and a small one on the bottom right corner. This is purely cosmetic and has no affect on the phone whatsoever. Touch sensitivity works fine anywhere on the screen as well as the phone feature/speakers. This iPhone is perfectly functioning!
Take a look at the pics and ask any questions in the thread!
I am taking offers!

Ugh, I just bought CleanMyMac. Could you elaborate more why these products are bad to use? Thanks
AppZapper, AppCleaner, CleanApp, TrashMe, and similar apps do not do a thorough job of removing all files/folders related to deleted apps. I tested several of these, using Skype as the app to be removed. Of 17 items to be removed:
AppZapper missed 13 items
AppCleaner missed 11 items
AppDelete missed 8 items
Hazel missed 9 items
I also tested AppTrap, CleanMyMac and a few others, but don't recall how many items they missed. All left files/folders behind. In most cases, they remove .plist files and a few others, but leave behind much larger files and folders. (you will find a discussion of these tests in the thread linked below)
One app that I would not recommend, based on the number of complaints that have been posted in this forum and elsewhere, is CleanMyMac. As an example: CleanMyMac cleaned too much (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=709930)

yes, that's exactly what I did. I took an external 1TB WD small form factor drive (it houses a 2.5" HDD), created 200GB and 800GB partitions, then installed Lion on the smaller one. I still haven't begun to use the larger partition, however :D
BTW, has anyone gotten iStat Menus 2.0 running on Lion? I can't seem to get it working correctly. It downloads the sensors, but when I click on any of them in the preference pane, I'm told that they can't be loaded.

I love my iPad beyond belief, but buying another one (at least before the second gen comes out) is an epic waste of money.
I agree, I'll only buy the second if the first one gets stolen or damaged otherwise I am happy with it not matter what new features gets added in the later versions.

Ok guys I just found this glitch within iREB to downgrade your ipod touch or iphone. I was trying to load up custom firmware to my ipod touch 2nd gen and I got stuck with a black screen, and I start to fiddle with itunes and ireb. Downgraded my 2nd generation ipod touch from 4.2.1 to 2.1.1 (the very first firmware for this model). Below ive put the instructions on how I did this. (Ive only tested this on my ipod, but it should work on anything that iREB can support.
iREB is not available for Mac users as of yet, will update if changes occur.
1)First you will need to change your hosts
Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\ and locate “hosts” file.
Open this “hosts” file in Notepad and add this "74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com at the bottom of the note".
Credits to Komentra for the reply
2) Download iREB V4.0.x/4.1:
http://ih8sn0w.com/index.php/products/view/ireb.snow
3) Download the ipod firmware that you wish to downgrade to. (unless a new version of iREB is released, anything above 4.2.1 wont work. (I KNOW IT SAYS V4.0.x/4.1 BUT THATS PART OF THE GLITCH)
Download Firmware Here: http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/
4) Plug in your iPod/iPhone and load up iREB.
5) Select your device from the menu.
6) Wait for iREB to put your device into its SPECIAL dfu mode. (not the normal one)
7) Now, open iTunes and wait for your iPod to come up, now heres where I was experimenting.
8) put your ipod into dfu mode (I know what your thinking "oh this guy is an idiot, he doesnt know what hes doing" well this where stuff gets interesting. You cant see whats going on the ipod but wait for those USB chimes so you will know what to press and when. - Hold both the power and home button at the same time untill you hear a usb sound from your computer. When that sound comes let go of the power button and keep holding the home button and wait for the second usb sound. -
9) Hold shift and click restore in itunes and find your old firmware (ie. 2.1.1)
10) AND YOUR DONE!
I know what your thinking again (im a mind reader) WHY WOULD YOU WANNA DO THIS? well for me, iOS 4.2.1 is a load of bull for me, it goes way too slow and jailbreaking it makes it even worse. and pretty much all I do on my ipod is listen to music and nothin else, no lies. Seriously, and if you need to downgrade for a practical reason, then why not.
This should work on any OLD firmware that is older then your current one. (again ive only tested this on 4.2.1)
Hope this helped.

3.1.3 cannot be downgraded with this method. Here are the steps to solving this problem:
Download the following files:
Sn0wBreeze: http://www.mediafire.com/?2wt8v7yw1jlpnoc
Firmware 3.1.3: http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/
1) Plug in your ipod touch/iphone
2) open sn0wbreeze and say ok to the release
3) go to the next step and browse the firmware (3.1.3)
4) On the next step click build ipsw
5) let the program create the custom firmware.
6) go to the next step and instructions will pop up showing you how to put your ipod into dfu mode.
7) follow the on screen steps and then your ipod will be put into a pwned state.
8) restore your ipod in itunes with the custom firmware that was made earlier.
9) Your Done!
I will be continually updating this thread when new stuff is out.

What are the logs for ?
The library folder is big GB
Most applications will have a log which will record errors and other information. It would be worth clearing out to see if you can gain some space :)

Sorry, like I said before ^^ I need a low end card, probably like a ATI Rage that I just need to display video, no gaming.
Just a suggestion: 16mb would be ok but the radeoon 7000 for only 40 is a good deal and it will make expose a HELLLLL of a lot smother.

That one and the 4 socket one. (http://www.dabs.com/uk/Search2/Product+Details.htm?quicklinx=169G&searchphrase=dr%20bott)
We have the 4 socket one at work and Dabs is where I got it from. :)

Ok just got back from my first Macworld experience.
It was not really what I expected. Just hundreds of booths with software and iPhone cases.
It was a fun thing to do and I will go again but I think I would have had more fun going to presentations and the keynote.
I did get to see a sketch up demonstration at the Google booth and that was probably the best thing I did.
I did not get that much free stuff probably because we did not look like we were actually there to purchase stuff.
I felt like we did not get treated fairly at the booths because we are in High School. We might not be looking for products for our company but we are still interested and probably know just as much about Macs as everyone else.

How do I give out these invites... I know people who would appreciate it....
I'm a premium subscriber so I am not sure if it works the same way for free account holders but when I open the client a little bar drops down at the top saying share Spotify with your friends or something similar. Click the link and it takes you to the relevant page.

If you want a true fresh state, use the Software Installation and Restore media that came with your system. See Apple Knowledge Base article #42929 (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=42929) and if you have DVDs, the process for either of the PowerBooks should be the same as for your MacMini.
EDIT: This stil won't work because the only way to run this utility is AFTER the Setup Assistant finishes; I've never tried deleting the .AppleSetupDone file to re-run the setup assistant after al the relevant updates have been installed.

Well I don't turn it or my computer off either ;)
My iMac hasn't been off since I bought it in Sept 2010 and the keyboard is still on its original batteries - with 45% remaining.

Wondering how these compare to the SGP iPod Touch 4th Gen screen films...
I have SGP films for my iPhone 4 and love them so I'd assume these would be great too.
I have both brands (sgp, bse) here and to me they look identical. BSE has a better coverage on the back-side and the camera-, micro-cut-outs are already removed.
edit: lol, just realized that sgp is not stealth guards. But stealth guards is was what I mean.

Ok, I currently have a Ti 15" powerbook, but WILL SOON be buying a new 12" powerbook (as SOON as they update the line). I was going to purchase I thought a new 17" Apple LCD Display, but found out that the companies that were quoting the price had none in stock.
So... I have two options. One being purchasing an apple studio display on ebay, or just go out and purchase a new 19" LCD display.
My question for discussion would be: 1) would you consider buying a used LCD monitor off of ebay? 2) What new 19" LCD would you recommend in the $450 price range?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts! :)
