I've filed for I129 but I don't yet have my I-797C, Notice of Action form with me. I do have my receipt number and I was wondering if it was possible to find out the service center based on that.
When I check the status of my case online, it does not include any information regarding which service is processing my application.

Many desi companies apply for EB visas for folks still in India and have them work in India, till the CP stage..
This is the new trend. Since GC is for a future employment, effective way to consume huge numbers !!!

The American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) has applauded the brainstorm of ideas in a draft memo from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). The now-public draft, leaked without the permission of USCIS, examines the legal framework of immigration and explores possible solutions. AILA commends this reflection of the pursuit of the rule of law and the willingness of USCIS leadership to take up this thorough examination.
"We have in the past seen many attempts to scour the law to find justification for draconian, and ultimately unhelpful, ways to make immigrants' lives miserable," said AILA president David Leopold. "This draft document tries to think through ways to make the legal immigration system work in support of sensible law enforcement. It respects the law and respects the people who must deal with the law. For that, the administration is to be congratulated, even if none of the proposals is ever carried out." He added that many of these proposals should be carried out. Long-needed regulations to help children and crime victims caught in the system should be published. Men and women fighting for America in the U.S. military should have the comfort of knowing that their families are safe from being deported. Immigration policies that encourage investment in America and creation of jobs should be emphasized and expanded. These are but a few of several excellent proposals in this document.
"We will never effectively address illegal immigration until we develop a legal immigration system that actually works and that offers people a realistic alternative to illegality," added AILA Executive Director Crystal Williams. "Congress has thus far refused to act. Administration officials at least are trying to find ways to help fill this vacuum," Williams stated.

that's absurd - your wife's PD is tied to yours. I was in EB2, switched to EB1 and both my wife's and my 485 were approved together.

Thank you Lazycis. I had posted a thread a couple of days ago when the report came out.
We are looking at our members doing some analyis work on this report and sending us their feedback. If you and others are interested, pls do so.
This will help IV efforts in help USCIS in fixing their problems and suggesting solutions to USCIS.

Until now, new inmates booked into the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) prison system had their fingerprints checked only for criminal history information. But now, each new inmate booked into the Huntsville, Texas, intake site will now also have his or her fingerprints checked by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) biometric system for any immigration record.
The TDCJ prison system is the first in the United States to partner with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in this new program, called Secure Communities. This comprehensive program is intended to streamline the process by which ICE determines if the screened inmate is a criminal alien, subject to automatic removal after the inmate completes his or her prison term. Highest priority is given to inmate aliens who have been convicted of crimes such as rape, robbery, murder, kidnapping, and major drug offenses.
Eventually all 24 intake sites in Texas will have the same capability to screen inmates’ immigration history. ICE currently partners with 50 counties and law enforcement agencies across the nation in the Secure Communities program, and looks to expand the program to all law enforcement agencies throughout the United States.
More information about ICE's Secure Communities effort is available at www.ice.gov (http://www.ice.gov). Additional information about TDCJ’s partnership with ICE may be found at: http://www.ice.gov/pi/nr/0905/090519huntsville.htm.

Based on your approved I-140 if you are eligible to file 485 or get EAD then he can also get EAD.
But using only approved I-140 , then only the beneficiary can get extended.

Ever heard of the adage - 'Too many cooks spoiled the broth'. If every one here starts creating their own 'Action Items' here, confusion will abound - which one is Official (IV sponsored) and which is is proposed by an individual member!
If you're interested in creating 'Action Items' of your own - join the State Chapters, share your ideas with other members and chapter leaders. If there's enough support for it in the group, chapter leaders will take it up with the Core. Once sanctioned by the core, it will become a real 'Action Item' on IV.
Lets follow this process, for the benefit of all and to avoid confusions.

have your friend look or ask for where the nearest USCIS office is with a deferred inspection office. they can fix it there.
